"A Flickering Start was the first piece of music that I wrote in 2018, and it was written in anticipation of what the year would have in store, both for me personally, but also for the world as a whole. The title refers to the fragility of everything we know and love, and how we can never take anything for granted. I personally chose to aim for optimism, and that the flicker will turn into a steady light," says Franzen.
